UNAS
UNAS..UNAS..ooo UNAS...
Just wanna emphasize a message for all my kiddos...
UNAS is a phase of life..your life...
It can be an obstacle..indeed...but how you react to those obstacle that count...
In the future, you will have many obstacle (I don't wish you for it but it's common things in life) and how you deal with it, how you encounter it that matter...
Will you choose the easy path??
Will you struggle for your own sake? for your own future?
Do you have enough confidence in yourself?
Do you have enough faith on the matter of right and wrong?
I wish you choose the right path, although it may not smooth and easy...
I wish you have wisdom to choose the right decision instead of the wrong one..
I wish you have courage to fight for your own future...and not let anyone provide the future for you...
I wish you the best...
I wish your success..
May God's mercy and blessing always upon you....

“Anakku rewel terus..Anakku manja..dsb”

DON'T GET ME WRONG...
Katanya Indonesia mau berubah..kalo terus dididik gitu ya kapan berubahnya donk...*sigh*
For me that would be a big question mark…How come he/she did that…
Semoga ini bisa jadi salah satu PR untuk presiden mendatang (whoever it will be…)

Cerita tentang Seorang Guru Senior...Mohon bantuan Doa-nya...
Cerita selengkapnya silahkan temen-temen baca tulisan Ms. Jenny berikut...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God bless her and all of us.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Semoga beliau diberikan kesembuhan secepatnya...Amien

BLACKBERRY....
Blackberry...hmmm...small gadget with huge function...
Last time when I went to Jakarta, my business partner suggest me to buy it so we can communicate easier and effectively....
"HA..AH...BLACKBERRY, MAS??" "Ga usah deh..." that's my reply at that time. "Banyak yang masih urgent buat sekarang..."
I have a principle that I'm not a gadget mania...I choose an item based on it function and not because it is a trend....And I think for now, I don't need blacberry yet.... I have my handphone (although without special fiture) and PGD's laptop that enable me to connect with internet...So, it' enough for me now.
But, today at school...O M G... I saw blackberry everywhere...my students bring it as if it just an ordinary item, something that can easily get by them...hiks-hiks-hiks berarti gurunya yang kuper kali ya...ga mau blackberry. Aduh, ga habis pikir...buat apa gitu ya blackberry-nya mereka..ckckck...Browsing buat tugas sekolah khan juga ga segitunya....ckckck....

ALEX @ SCHOOL (Part III)
At my last post about Alex...I was so confused of him, because it seems that he don't like to be at school...
So right now, I want to write down the newest update about it...
Thanks GOD, after almost 2 weeks, his father and I take turn to drop him or pick him up from school...he seems become more confidence at school.
He never cry again when he saw his uniform. He never cry again during lesson at school...Thank God. Even last friday..he wanted to go to school earlier :) And whenever he came back from school, he can told us (me and his papa) what happend at school... (although some of it quite hard to be understand because he didn't pronounce it correctly...but at least from his enthusiasm, I know that he is happy at school..)

ALEX AT SCHOOL (Part II), Please give me advise
For 2 weeks, Alex was okay with the school, he enjoyed it so much. It shown by his answer whenever I asked him about his school. He able to explain the material that is being taught at school. He able to draw "kelkel" (translation :circle), kuer (translation :square) and sometime proudly showed the stamp that he had in his hand because being good at school. After 2 days at school, the baby sitter already left him alone in class, but it seems okay with him.
But that is different now. Lately he don't want to go to school. Only by seeing his uniform, can make him cry histerically. And it's getting worse when he arrive at school. He will refuse to enter the class. He cries everytime at school..(And God knows how loud Alex can cry ..hehehe...). Now everyone in Buah Hati know Alex...the boy how cry so loud..ckckck...
I confuse what should I do?
Ms. Risa suggest that probably Alex needs more time with his parents at school.
So I followed her suggestion.
But the school has strict regulation that every students allowed to be accompanied by their parents only at their first month.
Alex doesn't have this problems at his first month, he-infact-able to adapt well during his first month, but now.....
Parents out there..what did you do in your kids first day at school?
As a teacher, I always advice my students parents...but know dealing with my own son and I haven't got any clue what should I do....
Or what makes him "hates" school (ketakutan lebih tepatnya...terrifiying more likely...)
Is it too early for him to be at school? (my son is 2 years old)
Is it because he is the only child (for now)?
Right now, me and my husband always take Alex to school ourselves. But because my husband has work in shift, so lately I become more often to ask permission from school to take Alex at his school. I swop my teaching hours to another period after Alex's school hour.
At home, my husband and I play role play like in a school..Hopefully it can make him for comfortable.
And I pray that Alex can enjoying his school again soon..God, please help him...

PPR Seminar
Well, having a seminar full day on Saturday, away from my baby would not be my best plan :p
But the assignment letter has came...
Pradigm Pedagogy Refelection is the title
And...
I felt grateful because they made me attend that seminar...
It's a great seminar (except one part in the prelude-introduction- that makes me felt like in a catholic church instead of in a seminar...hahaha....a person in front of me felt a sleep..hehehe...)
Anyway in that seminar, there are some values that I get...
1. It brings back my motivation to teach.....
Sometime I felt discourage by seeing the phenomenon at school around Indonesia...A kid values the result more than the process...They willingly to do everything to passed National Exam..
For those who came from lower-middle financial background, some of them feel it's okay to cheat between them...
For those who came from upper-middle financial background, some of them feel it's okay to buy the answers or the questions.
Probably I will get problems by posting it, but that's the reality...
And that makes me qustioning my self..what's the purpose of me being a teacher, if actually they can pass it themself without teacher...
But as people said..better light up a match against the darkness than doing nothing...
So here I am..try to light up my matches (which hopefully can light up some candle also soon...atau obor sekalian biar lebih terang :p). I'll do my best as a teacher, which in the process...hopefully I could inspire the others (my kids, my students especially) to build a beter world..to make a better nation..
Hehehe..Am I hoping too much? Am I nuts? hahaha...who knows....
2. I amaze of Pak Kartono dan Pak Katino who have high dedication on teaching and also high dedication of heir students. I salute them. Despite the lack of facility, they able to make great breakthrough, great inovation on learning.
The happiness and willingness of the kids to gain the knowledges is their main concern.
How to make a kids loves their subject.
And how to make the process is fun and meaningful, so the kids will not only concern about the result but they gain some values that timeless
3. That is not only the knowledge of the subject that needs to be taught to a kid, but the most important is how to teach them able to make reflection of themselves.
How the students will able to empathize andbuild their sympathy about what happend in their surrounding..in their world...
4. The things that I also get is about the value it self... Although it's based on Christianity prespective, but actually it's a world wide values...
The values that I thing all people aware of it, but decreasing this time. They are honesty (kejujuran), brotherhood (persaudaraan), and teamwork (kerjasama), respect
At Pak Katino's school 90% of the students is not Catholic or Christian(although it is a Catholic foundation), and it doesn't mean that they want to make their students to be Catholic...
They just want they kids to love learning, to get and implement the values in their life. To be a better person.
And I thing their values is a common values and still good values for our life.
I, indeed still have a lot to learn....
I'm still learning to be a teacher, still learning to be a good mother, still learning to be a good wife, still learning to be a good sister, still learning to be a good friend, still learning to build my business, still learning to learn a lot of thing...
I just wish to have enough time to learn all of that. Amien. :)

A great teacher story
Okay I will tell you a story about Mrs. Thompson ….
It’s taken from www.makeadifferencemovie.com
(but some of it I add it with my own words because I can not find the full version of it..The one in italic is my own memories about it..)
Mrs. Thompson is a teacher
And like most teachers, she looked at her students
She said that she loved them all the same
However that was impossible because there in front row slumped in his seat..
Was a little boy named Teddy Stallard
And Teddy could be unpleasant
It got to the point where Miss Thompson would actually take delight in marking his paper with a broad red pen, making bold “X” and then putting a big F on the top of his papers
At the school where Miss Thompson taught, she was required to review each child past records, and she put Teddy’s off until the last
However when she reviews his file, she was in for a surprise
His first grade teacher wrote that “Teddy is a brilliant student, good at class and he pleasant to be with. His friends love him”
His second grade teacher wrote that “Teddy is a pleasant boy and his friends like to be with him, but recently his mother got a deathly illness”
His third grade teachers wrote “ His mother death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn’t show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren’t taken”
His fourth grade teacher wrote “Teddy withdrawals himself from the society. He don’t have anymore friend to be with and his academic slowly begun to decreased”
By now Miss Thompson has realize the problems and she feels ashamed of herself
She felt even worst when her students brought her a Christmas presents and wrapped with beautiful ribbons and bright papers, except Teddy’s
His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy brown paper that he got from the grocery bag.
Miss Thompson took pain to open it in the middle of the other present
Some of the students started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stone missing and a bottle that was one quarter full of perfume
But she stifled the children laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, put it on and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist.
Teddy stayed after school that day, just long enough to say “Miss Thompson today you smell just like my mom used to”
After the children left, she cried for at least an hour
On that very day, she quit teaching writing, reading and arithmetic
Instead, she begin to teach children
Miss Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy
As she worked with him, his mind begin to come life
The more she encourage him the faster he responded
By the end of the year Teddy begin to be one of the smartest children at class
Despite the lie that she all students the same,
Teddy becomes one of her “teacher’s pet”
The story does not end here…
(But I make it short…it just every year or two…Teddy will write a letter to Miss Thompson to tell her about himself at that time and stated that Miss Thompson is the best teacher he ever know…He is a doctor then)
16 years later…
A letter come..
Teddy said that he met this girl and was going to be married and he was wondering that Miss Thompson might agree to sit at the wedding in a place that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom….. (his father died couple years before that day...)
And she wore that bracelet the one with some rhinestone missing
Moreover she made sure that she wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together
“Thank you Miss Thompson for believing in me.Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference”
Miss Thompson with tears in her eyes whispered back “Teddy you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I can make a difference. I don’t know how to teach until I met you”
Quote
I got this from the training..
And it quite strengthens me to do my job when I have low motivation and feel headache like now…
And now I want to share it with you all….
It’s from von Gothe..
I have come to frightening conclusion…
I am the decisive element in the classroom
It is my personal approach that creates the climate
It is my daily mood that makes the weather
As a teacher I possess tremendous
To make a child’s life miserable or joyous
I can be a tool of torture
Or an instrument of inspiration
I can humiliate or humor
Hurt or heal
In all situation
It is my response that decides whether
A crisis will be escalated or de-escalated
And a child humanized or dehumanized

Percobaan Donat terawet
And the result will be publish soon :)
- kemudian saya beri label tanggal perolehan donat
Terlampir foto donat, keadaan terakhir.Berikut beberapa hal mengejutkan yang saya peroleh, urut berdasarkan awetnya.

Why am I being a TEACHER?
I often heard someone asked me..
“why do you want to be a teacher?” I know some of my best friend thing that I was not serious to take it as a career….
“Why do you need to study engineering if it turns out you are only teach kids..??”..
Okay, to answer that question,
I will need to tell you from the beginning….
I was graduated from ITS on March
2004, and only 5 days from my graduation, I was called to work as a consultant
(ISO 9001 Consultant…) And I enjoyed work as a consultant.. It’s never boring,
we have to learn many things at once, we have to be able to adapt with whatever
the circumstances there are. For example : If I go to tobacco company today,
means yesterday, I already prepare with its process, document, etc. And if the next day I go to food manufacturing, then I will need to study and prepare for it…
It was fun, I got many experiences, and sometime even the owner of the company told us how to build a business (usually during lunch chat…) So, the work is fun…
BUT….
When I see my supervisor.. she needs to leave her child (baby
child..) for days because one of our client is in Jember and they will have
assessment… I start to think that this job is not for me…I mean it’s okay when
I’m still single (coz I love to travel..) but I can’t imagine to leave my baby
for a long term…..So, I RESIGN…in a sudden until my boss wondering because
actually I seems enjoyed my work and she pleased with my work….
After that, for several months, I try to manage Phitagoras (my consultant company with some of my partner…Mbak Riris at that time, and Mas Indra join not long after that..) At that time, I still love to be a consultant but I also prepare for the next future, when I have family of my own…so, I prepare something that can give me passive income in the future..(Hopefully.. so help me God..) Instead of spending my time for someone else company, it would be better I struggle for my own…That’s my thought….
So…I’m quite proud of it…Starting only with Rp. 75000,-/each, we (me, mbak ris, yoyo and dhipik) made name card and other publication…. And thank’s GOD, 4 months after I resign, Phitagoras are registered as PT (Perseroan Terbatas..)
actually thanks to Mas Indra who joined not long before that and persist to
make it legal (Me and mbak Ris against it at first….hehehe…Yoyo and Dhipik
no longer with us…)
Then when do I think to be a teacher?
At that time, I was joining one
of the training at WISMA SIER for Forkom SIER as a representative from
Phitagoras. And at that time the training mention that why Indonesia become “like this” because the kids at school are teach with the same methodologies and making the same stereotype… So actually if we want to build a nation start to teach the younger generation a creative way of learning.. and start to build their awareness about their nation. Mostly it’s all can be done at school…
Hmmmm..than I started to think… I usually train adults…why don’t a
teach young kids…Try to make a big impact in the future….Hmmm….
At that time I’m still not sure yet…
Yach because it’s public secret that teachers’ salary are not big.. :p
But I start to think a teacher as an option of my job….
At that time mbak Ris already at Aneka Rupa Tera and I want to get another job. Mas Indra is the only one from the owner that full time in Phitagoras…And I thank you so much mas…Phitagoras can be as big as now..because of you…. Beyond what I ever dream before
So I start to find jobs that I liked.. And I let it flow…I don’t have specific requirement.. I surrender it to God… And finally at that time I had several test and interview… The one that I remember the most is from Cita Hati and Surabaya Plaza Hotel… Both of them call me at the same day and both of them accept me as their employee…. At first I’m very confused….As the Public Relation of Surabaya Plaza Hotel, they offer me more than 3 times salary than what Cita Hati offer as a teacher… WOW…
But then I discuss with Mas Ayok (my boyfriend at that time..not husband yet..) And he said that I should think about the responsibility and job desc also accept the salary… At hotel the salary is big but the working hour is almost 24 hours must stand by (if we have event)…then what’s the different when I’m still be a consultant….Even worst…
Hmmm….Make sense, I resign as a consultant because I want more time with my family… And also because that training at SIER that I remember always…
Then I decide to choose to be a teacher…
And Mrs Shinta (my principal at that time) even can make me to see a bigger vision than I had at that time… I know that it is a job for me…..
Mas Ayok ones asked me “Mau kerja di orang sampe kapan, Ma?”
(because he has a big dream to start his own business and no longer work for
someone.. )
“Mama ga kepikiran punya sekolah sendiri”
“Tentu saja, Pa…salah satu mimpiku..goalku…bias bikin sekolah buat para
Anak jalanan dan Anak yang ga mampu…”
It’s seems impossible for now but I believe that nothing is impossible… (‘o’)v
So that’s about it…I like to teach…specially I like to see a kid struggle for his/her own life…
Everything if possible if they believe it….
And the one that can change their destiny is their own effort..
That’s what I want the kids to know…
Besides, by being a teacher…
I have many holidays to spent with Alex and Mayok…..hehehe (although Mas Ayok hard to find a leave..:( )
I still have time also to handle Mas Ayok's business and mine….
So may God strengthen me to do this job….
Amien...
